I am in the beginning stages of converting the spare room into my office which means what went in must come out. So I decided to move the double bed into our little superhero’s room and give him an upgrade from a toddler bed to a big boy bed with bed rails of course so he doesn’t go for a tumble in the middle of the night.
Here are some before and after pictures.
We finally got his super cute fan that I had been eyeing at Home Depot. Everything about it is precious from the rockets that fly round and round, to the stars dangling down and the compass securing the light (earth) in place.
I added this “step” at the foot of the bed so he can climb on and off the bed a without any mommy/daddy assistance.
Although it isn’t finished, we brough his toy box in from the garage so he can use it until we get enough time (and good weather) to stain it and add the lid.
And of course, any good superhero would be sure to have a separate place for his capes, utility belts, suits etc. so he can find them at a moment’s notice. (No more family ‘scavenger hunts’ for misplaced capes – woo hoo!!!)
Next came some finishing touches that gives the room that superhero feel.
Of course, we had to make sure our No Monsters Allowed sign was clearly visible just in case they forgot. 😉
We still want to add some cute superhero decals to the walls but for now, I would say we made progress. The best part was that most of these little touches (minus the fan) were either DIY projects or relocating items we already had which is a win-win for us. 🙂
