The Real Me

I thought I would do a quick post on some instagram pics I’ve been snapping as of late. Ever since little man and I went for that bike/jog the other night, I feel like I’m hooked. I feel so much better when I get outside and just do some sort of exercise.

Basically, he rides his bike and I run around him….litterally. I run behind him, to the side of him, in front of him backwards so I can see him giggle.

Last night we turned it up a notch with both of us “singing” Trouble by Taylor Swift as we jog around the block….you just can’t beat it.

When we got home, we sat on the front porch, sipped some cold water and snapped a pic or two. This first one really represents the true me. I am a goof ball and most of my pictures are taken with some sort of crazy funny face.  I’ll do anything to make my family laugh. 🙂

Then, we took a “nice” picture. That was until little man stuck his tongue out at the last-minute.  He’s a clown like his mama! 😉

And I can never pass up the opportunity to take a picture of my pretty flowers. I think they love all this rain we’re having. Believe it or not, these are the geraniums I kept in the house over the winter.

The cascading petunias in my tipsy top planter are beyond beautiful. I don’t think this picture does them justice.

So what have you guys been up to?

Canada Day 2013 (FINALLY!)

Okay, so I finally got my act together and managed to re-write this post.  I am going to keep the babble to a minimum and just let you enjoy some of the weekend pictures.

We kicked things off with the traditional family BBQ. Little man decided to serenade my sister with his version of the Hot Dog song (basically he just kept singing ‘HOT DOOOOG’ in various voices. LOL!).

As you can see, I then took a stab at being a nature photographer….my mom has such a green thumb that these plants were so pretty I just had to take a picture or two…or four.

We pretty much inhaled dinner so I didn’t get to take any pictures of that but I did snag some of a very special moment that happened afterward.

Yup, I am engaged!

LOL – okay, my little sister is engaged. I just can’t believe it.  We got the entire thing on video and it was so sweet.  Her fiance not only asked my mom for permission, but got her to participate in the entire thing.

I pretended to vlog with my little sister (which we are definitely going to do  in the future) and when we walked into the room, he got down on one knee and proposed. She said yes and then my mom got the gun…well the pellet gun to be precise.  The look on my little sister’s face was priceless. Don’t worry, that was part of the plan and they hugged it out afterwards.

Then came a toast, hugs, kisses, and many, many well wishes.

Little man took a much-needed rest and missed most of the engagement festivities but got up just in time for the bonfire and fireworks.

I don’t think that these pictures really depict just how big those marshmallows were; they were easily the size of my palm and OH SO DELISH!

It was a wonderful weekend and I know my father was looking down at those beautiful fireworks and his ever growing family with a huge smile on his face.

Technical Difficulties

Last night I had planned to prep my post for today….and then I prepped a little more….and then some more…..and BLAMO! It was all gone with a flickering of some lights and a slight power outage.  At first I sat there and clicked, and clicked, and clicked.  Then I cursed (just a little) then I got on my bright pink runners, and said to my little guy: “Let’s go for a walk”.

It was a great way to blow off some steam and spend some time with my little guy.  I even managed to do a slight jog for a good portion of the time. This was my view…so cute! Couldn’t help but snap a pic.

I woke up today thinking this would be a fresh start.  Then I get the call from the little man’s preschool telling me he has a fever of 102 and was sleeping under the jungle gym when it was outdoor play time.  UGH! Poor little guy.  So after a doctor’s visit, some motrin and antibiotics he is currently spending the day watching Batman cartoons with his daddy.

I have a feeling it is going to be that kind of week. Oh well….PLOT CHANGE! Now I just have to roll with the punches and change gears.
